Welcome to Calvary Szeged – we are glad you have found us! If you are new to our church, hopefully the following questions and answers will help you get to know us better and help you when you can visit us.

What time are your services?

Sunday morning – 10:00
Friday night – 18:00

Can I bring my kids?

Yes! Children are a blessing from the Lord and we rejoice in the gift of children.

We understand that kids learn at a different level than adults and sometimes in our main service we talk about “adult” issues therefore we have children’s ministry available for children up to the age of 12 on Sunday mornings.

If you have a small child, you’re more than welcome to be with your little one in the upstairs room, which is equipped with everything, you & your little one need. There are toys and a changing station for your baby & a sitting area for you to watch the service live.

What are your services like?

Our church is all about Jesus therefore our services are focused on Him. We being each service with a short time of singing praise songs to Him. Then we open God’s Word for a time of study (usually about 45 minutes). After the service we have a time to respond to the teaching of God’s Word by worshipping God again in song.

We encourage you to not rush away after the service but to stay around and get to know the other members of the church and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

Why are your services in English & Hungarian?

Szeged is a unique city in that people from all over Hungary and the world come here to study at our excellent university. It’s our desire to minister to all the people of the city whether they are here for just a few years or a long time. To do this most effectively our services are in both languages as to accommodate all who would come.

When do you take Communion?

We take communion on the 1st Sunday and the 3rd Friday every month.

Who are the leaders of the church?
Kyle Eckhart is the lead pastor and one of the elders of the church. Terhes Balázs and Kácsor Norbi also serve as leaders in the church and are involved in different areas of ministry. The elders meet on a monthly basis to pray and discuss the issues of the church.

Should you need pray or counsel the elders are available before and after our services.

Can I get baptized here?

We believe and practice believer’s baptism. If you’ve put your faith in Jesus we’d be more than happy to baptize you thus declaring your faith in a public way to the world.

For more information you can talk to one of the elders or write us an e-mail.

Can my child get baptized here?

We believe and practice believer’s baptism therefore we don’t baptize children because we don’t child baptism in the Bible.
What we do see are children being brought to the Lord to be dedicated to Him (1 Samuel 1 & Luke 2). If you’ve been blessed with a child, we’d be more than happy to pray for that child & for you in a baby dedication ceremony.
